17 Furoshiki: Fanciful Design
Furoshiki are cloth wrappers used to wrap and carry items. They come in all sizes - from handkerchief-like diminuitive items to huge room size versions. The larger ones are quite useful as table cloths and bed covers, not to mention wall hangings. Most of them have enough yardage to fashion quite stylish garments.
 
Excellent condition. Medium weight 100% cotton, handwoven. 42" x 43". Roughly fifty years old.
 
Deep blue. Hand stitch-dyed shibori.
