04 Futonji: Pine, Plum, and Bamboo, Crane and Tortoise
Futonji is the outer shell of a futon quilt, without the batting. This piece is the entire shell, front and back, with an open seam down the center of the back from which the batting was removed.
 
Excellent condition, excellent quality. Medium weight 100% cotton, handwoven. 66" wide and  79" tall. Roughly 100 years old. Four panels in front and six panels make up the back and front border.
 
Deep, rich indigo blue. Highest quality tsutsugaki resist. Some lint on the inside remaining from the time the batting was removed.
