My Adventures in Japan and Beyond
At the age of seventeen John Marshall ventured forth to Japan for what turned out to be a five-year stint and over half a century of adventure in historic Japanese textile arts.
Apprenticed in traditional doll making, which included weaving, sculpture, and kimono design, John came to specialize in a dye technique that focuses on natural colorants and rice-paste resist techniques called katazome.
