The flat surface of this thread offers a very unique reflection of light. Most
of us are accustomed to seeing beautiful creations with the glimmer of rounded
threads reminiscent of light dancing off leaves on a summer day. Work fashioned
from these fibers offer a warm glow, much more like the luminescence of the
surface of a still pond on a warm afternoon.
They are designed for use in weaving and hand embroidery.
I purchased these from a very reputable weaving house in Kyoto through a
bankruptcy sale, which is how I am able to offer them at such a low price.
Inventory is limited. Once I’ve sold out, I doubt that I will be able to acquire more.
The gold comes in three types of reflective quality, and all the same color. The
first is very shiny, almost mirror like. The second is shiny, and the third is
a soft buff sheen. Please let me know if you have a preference.
These spools are about the same size as a large spool of sewing thread. The
threads are flat, with gold leaf on both sides. They run around 350 yards per
spool.
