Naryads and Hydrangeas
Naryads are water nymphs found all the way from Greece to Indonesia. I’ve combined my interpretation of them with one of my favorite flowers, hydrangeas.
This garment was entirely dyed with indigo from my garden in Covelo, CA, with a few touches of cochineal and cinnabar. I’ve done all the designing and sewing. It is partially lined, and washable.
Rice-paste resist was passed through stencils I carved from hand-made mulberry paper. The silk is a very high quality Japanese rinzu (jacquard).
Garment size:
wrist to wrist:   52”
side seam to side seam:  26”
back neck to bottom hem:  52”

$2800
plus CA sales tax and $42 domestic shipping.
